Senior Optical Communication Product Development Engineer

FiberWork Optical Communications is recruiting a ″Senior Product Development Engineer − Optical Communications″. .

This role provides ″product development coordination and leadership″.

    Responsibilities:
    • Develop optical telecommunication products;
    • Be the principal product development engineer;
    • Hands−on laboratory activities;
    • Manage and coordinate product development project;
    • Manage, coordinate and tutor team of younger R&D engineers;
    • Manage subcontracted services;
    • Develop and qualify component and subsystem suppliers;
    • Interface with customers in order to meet their needs, understand their problems and alleviate their pains;
    • Assess new product applications;
    • Use in-depth product knowledge to help sales staff and customers;
    • Addresses pre−sales questions pertaining to developed products;
    • Other usual duties related to technological product development.
    Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree on Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications or Computer Engineering;
    • Minimum 10 year experience with communication system disciplines and telecommunication technologies;
    • Strong knowledge of optical communications;
    • Minimum 5 years experience with developing optical transmission products;
    • Knowledge of optical fiber products and systems used in high capacity transmission;
    • Knowledge and experience of wire line as well as wireless communication technologies and systems;
    • Understanding of GPON and WiMax;
    • Practical skills in telecommunication testing;
    • Experience with application engineering and customer interfacing/feedback for improved product development;
    • Experience with R&D documentation;
    • Experience with project management fundamentals;
    • Managerial skills as well as hands−on capability;
    • Strong leadership;
    • Interpersonal skills and ability for team motivating and tutoring;
    • Sense of ownership, commitment and self−motivation;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
    • Flexibility to work on multiple tasks⁄activities concurrently;
    • Interdisciplinary knowledge and abilities;
    • Attention to details and good organizational skills;
    • Problem solving skills including strong logical conceptual and analytical thinking;
    • Familiarity with selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results;
    • Solid educational background from distinguished university.
